GKD Metal Fabrics’ Illumesh controls the span of illumination by the angling of the LEDs. They can be focused on a specific area, or blanket the entire façade. Creative lighting effects can be achieved using individually programmed lighting concepts. Compared to conventional illumination systems, Illumesh offers higher resolution imagery, weather and temperature resistance, and excels as an Internet-operated, high-performance media surface.

New York city’s multi-disciplinary studio SOFTlab has created an immersive installation to showcase the winter 2015 collection — titled star walker — of shoe company melissa. Located at their store in Manhattan, the structure acts as a kaleidoscopic lantern that creates an otherworldly atmosphere within the shop. The piece is tied to the crystal, which is highly refined yet primitive. they can be found anywhere, yet their ubiquitousness never constrains them to the ordinary.

Deriving its name from the Latin Lucere, meaning ‘to shine’.

Artist Wolfgang Buttress, has completed Lucent, a new sculpture created as part of the lobby refurbishment of the iconic John Hancock Center in Chicago. Lucent is a 4 meter-diameter hemisphere perforated with 3,115 holes representing stars visible with the naked eye from Earth’s Northern hemisphere. Fiber-optic cables emerge from each point, emitting a glowing ambient light.
